How to Import Brazilian Chicken Paws into the UAE
The United Arab Emirates is one of the world's busiest re-export hubs for frozen poultry — Dubai's Jebel Ali port and free zones receive cargo from Brazil and redistribute it across the Gulf and MENA region. Halal certification is the requirement that shapes the whole import.
What the UAE requires
Every shipment needs halal certification — recognized by UAE authorities including ESMA and MoIAT — plus a veterinary health certificate and a certificate of origin. These documents travel with the bill of lading and are checked at clearance in Jebel Ali. For the full certification chain from the Brazilian plant, see the SIF, GACC & halal guide.
Jebel Ali: a re-export hub, not just a destination
A large share of the frozen poultry landing in Dubai does not stay in the UAE. Jebel Ali's free zones are built for onward trade — cargo is cleared, stored and redistributed by road and short sea across Saudi Arabia, the wider Gulf and MENA markets. For an importer, that means the UAE contract often needs to account for onward logistics, not just local demand, when sizing the reefer program.
Shipping and payment terms
Brazil–UAE chicken paw trade is typically quoted CIF in reefer containers at a constant −18 °C, with the exporter carrying freight and insurance to Jebel Ali. Buyers new to the trade work with an importer/distributor partner on the ground to manage local clearance and halal documentation checks — see our guide for importers and distributors.
